How are you preparing your tutoring business for 2022?

I’m sat here writing this with Snowy sat across the room from me on her sofa licking her stump. I go to a house where they have 2 dogs. A sausage dog and an old Labrador. They make me laugh, the sausage dog acts like a pilot fish and chews any waste food from the Labrador’s teeth.

I’m still listening to Tony Robbins in the car. He was talking the other day about having a working environment that inspires you. Obviously if you go to the child’s home you can’t influence this too much. But when you are carrying out lessons online or in your home, preparing resources, etc. You can be more influential about your environment.

I love Snowy to bits but listening to her lick her stump is distracting and as such unless I have a hard and fast deadline, I’m finding my daily to-do list sometimes slips.

Work is getting busier and busier, and I love it, but things are piling up.

So, I’ve made the decision

that I am going to create a plan of absolutely everything I must get done in a week.

  • plan lessons
  • prepare lessons
  • carrying out lessons
  • emails to parents
  • email you with inspiration to start/grow your tutoring business
  • Monday’s Memories
  • Thursday’s Thoughts
  • Social media
  • Membership group resources
  • training
  • accounts/bookkeeping
  • And the list goes on.

Some of these are things I love doing, other aspects I’m not keen on…

I know some of these I’m good at. So, once I have everything planned out, I will look to see what I can designate to others. This may involve employing more tutors, taking on a bookkeeper, a graphic designer. A business manager to ensure deadlines are met and to look at the bigger picture.

That will ensure that what I need to do, will be done and done properly. Others who are experts in their field can take on the roles that I am not as keep on and inclined to put off until tomorrow.

I have signed back up to the gym and will head off shortly so I can have an environment where I can swim or use the gym to clear my mind. Creating the space to think, be inspired, create new ideas and improve what we already do.

2022 is going to be a great year. One of the things I need to do to ensure that is to get out of the weeds. Find more support from others and start implementing today rather than putting things off until tomorrow.

What are you going to do to ensure that 2022 is a great year for you?

If I can help in any way, please do ask.
