The Common Gothic Conventions that you will be required to consider when you are studying Jekyll and Hyde are:
Dark, mysterious or threatening settings (fog, empty streets, eerie buildings)
Duality and doubling (two sides of a person or place)
Supernatural or unexplained events
Psychological tension (fear, anxiety, curiosity)
Violence or horror
Secrets and repression
Pathetic fallacy (weather mirroring mood)
Doppelgänger motif (two identities, one person)
I've put together these notes to help you to annotate your book with notes about them. The goal is that it will give you suggestions to look out for and ideas on how you can incorporate it into your work.
I hope you find them helpful
