Grow something meaningful in your local area with a trusted brand behind you
Many children need more than a one-size-fits-all approach to learning. They need time, patience, understanding, and teaching that meets them where they are.
At Clara James Tutoring, we believe children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and understood - and that is the heart of everything we do.
This is not tutoring built around pressure or performance alone. It is tutoring built around confidence, connection, and meaningful progress.
We focus on the child in front of us, not a one-size-fits-all formula.
Our approach is especially thoughtful for children who may need learning to feel calmer, clearer, and more accessible.
We care deeply about both academic development and emotional confidence

The need for this work is growing.
More than 1.7 million pupils in England are identified as having SEND.
Around 20.5% of pupils now have SEND.
About 5.3% have an EHCP.
Around 14.2% receive SEN support without an EHCP.
Families are increasingly having to fight for support, with tribunal cases rising sharply.
Many children are waiting too long for help - or receiving far less than they need.
That means there has never been a greater need for tutors who are patient, prepared, compassionate and able to adapt to the child in front of them. GOV.UK BBC eton-academy.uk
This isn't about jumping on a trend.
It's about stepping into a genuine need - and doing meaningful work that can change lives.
As a founding franchisee, you'll have the chance to build your business with especially close support in the early stages.
You'll also help shape how the franchise grows.
That means:
extra support as you get started
direct feedback and guidance
the chance to influence what future franchisees receive
the opportunity to be part of the Clara James story from the beginning
If you're the sort of person who likes to be part of something with heart, not just something polished and distant, this stage matters.
This may be right for you if you are:
a former teacher or teaching assistant
someone with experience supporting children or young people
a tutor who wants more structure and support
a parent who has walked the SEND journey and wants to help other families
someone with strong subject knowledge and a genuine desire to make a difference
someone looking for meaningful, flexible work with purposeBullet List 1
You do not need to have everything figured out.
You do need to care.
You do need to be willing to learn.
And you do need to believe that children deserve better than a one-size-fits-all education.
The ideal Clara James Franchisee is:
patient
warm
willing to adapt
reliable
genuinely cares about children
open to learning
believes confidence matters

I started Clara James Tutoring in 2012 with a very personal belief: that children are not failing because they are incapable - they are often struggling because nobody has yet found the way that works for them.
Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of children and families. I have seen how quickly confidence can grow when a child feels understood. I have also seen how overwhelming it can be to build a tutoring business from scratch when all you really want to do is help.
That is why I created this franchise.
Not to hand someone a logo and a manual and send them off alone.
But to create something genuinely supportive. Something that helps caring people build a business they can be proud of, whilst making a real difference to children and families in their local area.

FAQ section
Do I need teaching experience?
No, but you've probably found in life you have been teaching people things without doing it consciously.
Do I need to be a qualified teacher?
I've had many tutors work with me over the years. Many like myself aren't qualified teachers. Time and time again, what has proven to be more important is your willingness to adapt and support the child sat in front of you.
Can I run the franchise part-time?
Definitely, in fact as you build your business you may decide to do it alongside your existing job.
What training will I receive?
You will receive a 5-day initial training. The first 3 days will take place online. Then you will be invited here to Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire) for the final two where we can ensure that you feel 100% confident in going forward and growing your business.
In addition, you will also receive additional SEND training, marketing training and Safe guarding training.
Will I get help with safeguarding and policies?
Yes, you will receive safeguarding training as well as all of our policies to use.
What resources will I have access to?
You will have access to over 500 resources in our hub. These are being added to all of the time. You will also have the ability (if you want to) to join us in creating more so that we have a wide range which will accommodate as many children's learning styles as possible.
You will also be given a PR pack to help you to grow your business from the outset and a comprehensive set of social media posts that you can use.
How much support will I receive after launch?
After you initially launch you will regular 1-to-1 calls to ensure that you fell confident in growing your business. Then as you move forward these will ease off, but we are always he to be contacted when you have a questions that need answering.
We also have a recommended SEND support manager working with us and a growing community of franchisees
There is also ongoing business and marketing support
Is this suitable for someone already working in education?
Yes, definitely. That's where I had been when I started the business
What makes Clara James Tutoring different from other tutoring franchises?
The biggest difference is that we provide a support system and not just a training pack. We will work together to make your business and Clara James Tutoring the best possible support for children who are lacking confidence as well as knowledge in their education. We are here to help both you and the family. When I started the business my question was: if I was looking for a tutor for my own children, what would I expect? Now, my question is: If I was looking to start a phenomenal tutoring business that I was proud of, supported children in a way that works for them, that provided me with a great income, what help and support would I need? And that is the support that I want to give to you
What happens after I enquire?
After you enquire I will send you a copy of our brochure. (If you would like a copy popping in the post, just let me know).
I will then be in touch to see what you think.
We can then arrange to have a proper conversation and I will answer any questions that you might have and give you a better understanding of how we work, the resources we use. The how and why of Clara James.
Then if you choose to go ahead you will be given the contract to go through.
Payment can then be made and a date to commence the training will be arranged and your new journey will begin!
If you want to build a tutoring business that feels meaningful, flexible, and well supported, this could be the next step for you.
No pressure, no obligation - just a chance to find out whether it feels like the right fit.
